Here, a group of young gamers interested in games, game design, and the gaming industry gather to plan and execute their visions using Fortnite Creative and Roblox, potentially becoming future professionals in the field.
The Fortnite Creative and Roblox group adds a new dimension alongside actual gameplay for those interested in designing worlds and maps for their own and others' enjoyment and benefit. Highlights of skills and qualities that can be developed through this group include game and map design, creativity, project work, planning, and teamwork. As skills progress, the goal is to collaboratively design and implement our own games using various tools.
We delve into the basics and theory of game design, practicing and learning what it feels like, and what it entails, to conceptualize, plan, and execute our dream maps. While focusing on building and creative planning, we never lose sight of the joy of playing ourselves. We explore excellent examples from around the world, testing various maps and levels, followed by an analysis of what makes these maps great.
Group members also design game worlds and maps for the enjoyment of other gamers in the School of Gaming community, which we then play together during SoG's community events. Participants have the opportunity to assist game educators in organizing online events.
Newcomers begin with smaller projects, but over time, shared projects grow larger. Advanced members may even design their own games using low-code / no-code tools.
Ultimately, this group serves as a creative hub where young minds collaborate, learn, and grow in the exciting realm of game design, using the powerful platforms of Fortnite Creative and Roblox.
